How to complete Hazmat ELDT
- Confirm that this is the correct CDL class or endorsement for your goal.
- Enroll and complete each online theory lesson.
- Pass the required theory assessment.
- Follow the completion and Training Provider Registry reporting instructions provided with your course.
- Verify completion reporting, then follow state and federal steps for the H endorsement knowledge test and other eligibility requirements.
Theory training and behind-the-wheel training are different
The federal ELDT requirement for the hazardous materials endorsement is theory only. It does not itself complete the endorsement process; additional state testing and federal security requirements may apply.
